How about that heat?

Wow. Today is a scorcher... The weather network said that it's only 27C, but holy Hannah, it feels more like 45C out there! Thankfully we have central air and we can all cool down by being inside, but the kids are raring to get outside. So we are playing inside for now.

Do you have a favourite way to pass the time with the kids when you are "stuck" inside due to weather?

Here it is! My first challenge card!

Hello all you fabulous readers! HAPPY CANADA DAY!

I hope that your week has been going great.  Wow what a super challenge over at Just A Scrappin'!

This weeks challenge was "Weddings". Make a card, layout, or project, using any colours we wanted.  

Here is the card I came up with! I was a little strapped for time on this one, so it didn't get as fancy as I was hoping, but I still think it turned out great. :)

~ The card is 7"x5 1/4"

~ Base cardstock is "Midnight Shimmer"

~ Background cardstock is "White Shimmer". (6.5" x 4.75") Both are from Creative Memories it was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I can't seem to find the name of it.

~ Sentiment is a title sticker from the "Divine" collection by Creative Memories. It is on non-embossed "White Shimmer" again. It is attached with one layer of pop dots on each corner.

~ The bride and groom are cut from the "Stretch Your Imagination" Cricut cartridge at 3". The black backing behind them is a tone on tone accent paper, also from the Creative Memories "Divine" collection. This was given a double pop dot on three corners and only one pop dot on the upper left hand corner.
On the inside I cut a plain white cardstock mat to use for writing on (6.5" x 4.75")

~ Paper trim on the top is an accent paper ("Divine" collection.)
~ Floral embellishment ("Divine" collection)

This card was fun and easy to make and I think it shares the emotions and elegance of the day quite well. :-)

First Design Challenge -- Complete!

I'm pretty excited! I've submitted my first design challenge for Just-a-Scrappin'!

As I was getting ready to submit the photos, I kept thinking of all the other things I could have added to the card... all the bling that I wanted to put on it to make it really pop. But, alas, I didn't have any at my disposal. So, I said to myself "You put thought and effort into this card, you liked it when you finished it the first time, it's nice, dammit!"
Well, I didn't swear at myself or anything, but ya know. :)
I can't wait to post it here for you all to see. All 4 of my readers. hehe

She's Alive!

Hello to all of my *ahem* loyal fans! I have been absent from here for quite some time... December I think. Oh my... 6 whole months. Well, I hope to change that.
I have recently been included in a design team over at Just A Scrappin'. I can't tell you how excited I am!
Our first challenge has been sent to us and our submissions will be posted on June 28th!

So, for my first trick... haha, I am hoping to revamp the look of the site. I like it, but the header is really poking at the OCD in me. Something about it just isn't right. One of my two monkeys have been put to bed, number 2 is following shortly and then I will have a few minutes to myself! Yay!

Anyhow, I figured I would post an update on what's going on. I hope to see and hear from you all soon!
